Photographing on Railways and Train Tracks

As a responsible photography studio, we are committed to promoting safety and adhering to legal standards within our work. This commitment extends to our stance on railroad safety. It’s a little-known fact, but every three hours in the U.S., a person or vehicle encounters a dangerous situation with a train, according to safety statistics. This underscores the importance of awareness around train safety.

For this reason, we are explicit in our policy to never conduct photoshoots on active railroad tracks, disused lines, or areas that could be misconstrued as operational lines. Safety is paramount, and we prioritize it in all aspects of our photography sessions.

The story behind these particular images is one steeped in personal heritage and safety. The senior’s father, a long-time train conductor, wished for a photoshoot that captured this element of their family history. We found a safe and legal way to honor this request: a private display section of rail, completely isolated and not part of any active or abandoned railway system. The tracks ended in an open field, emphasizing the disconnection from any network. This controlled environment allowed us to conduct a safe photoshoot without compromising on our safety standards or legal obligations.

By sharing these images, we aim to highlight the critical message of train safety and the careful considerations professionals must make to merge creativity with responsibility.
